When I die

When i die,

I want to die outside-

      no tethered beeps

      no sanitized smells

      no dreary tubes

      no cumbersome charts

      no rationed diets

      no tasteless bites

      no forgotten memories

      no unknown faces

      no waiting for days

When i die,

I want to die outside-

      lost in the woods

      bit by a snake

      mauled by a bear

      stung by a scorpion

      poisoned by a berry

      touched by the ivy

      drowned in a river

      struck by lightening

      rolled off a cliff

      slipped into a crevice

      caught in an avalanche

      not enough air

                  on a high mountaintop

sudden !

unplanned !

When i die,

I want to die outside,

having felt life-

     untamed,

     unforgiving,

     and wild.
